USAID-Tarabot worked with the Governorate of Wasit to improve service delivery through capacity building and institutional changes. Sustainability was foundational to USAID-Tarabot’s training of governorate staff on procurement systems and tools, and the introduction of project management processes and techniques. Capacity building was followed by practical hands-on application to deepen skills learned, as demonstrated by the use of new project management techniques projects on critical infrastructure projects in the province, including schools, roads, and low-cost housing units. To illustrate ownership of these initiatives and ensure the sustainability of Tarabot’s work, the Government of Iraq allocated $75,725 in cost share funding to support USAID-Tarabot’s activities with the Governorate of Wasit.

Sustainability was foundational to USAID-Tarabot’s training of governorate staff on procurement systems and tools, and the introduction of project management processes and techniques. Capacity building was followed by practical hands-on application to deepen skills learned, as demonstrated by the use of new project management techniques on the construction of a road. To illustrate ownership of these initiatives and ensure the sustainability of Tarabot’s work, the Government of Iraq allocated $64,200 in cost share funding to support USAID-Tarabot’s activities with the Governorate of Dhi Qar.

Sustainability was foundational to USAID-Tarabot’s training of governorate staff on procurement systems and tools, and the introduction of project management processes and techniques. Capacity building was followed by practical hands-on application to deepen skills learned, as demonstrated by the use of new project management techniques on the construction of a women’s healthcare center, and the development of tenders for government buildings in the province. To illustrate ownership of these initiatives and ensure the sustainability of Tarabot’s work, the Government of Iraq allocated $83,750 in cost share funding to support USAID-Tarabot’s activities with the Governorate of Muthanna.

Sustainability was foundational to USAID-Tarabot’s training of governorate staff on procurement systems and tools, and the introduction of project management processes and techniques. Capacity building was followed by practical hands-on application to deepen skills learned, as demonstrated by the use of new project management techniques on the construction of a primary healthcare center, and the development of tenders for cleaning and sewage services in Basrah. To illustrate ownership of these initiatives and ensure the sustainability of Tarabot’s work, the Government of Iraq allocated $120,000 in cost share funding to support USAID-Tarabot’s activities with the Governorate of Basrah.

Sustainability was foundational to USAID-Tarabot’s training of governorate staff on procurement systems and tools, and the introduction of project management processes and techniques. Capacity building was followed by practical hands-on application to deepen skills learned, as demonstrated by the use of new project management techniques on the construction of a health care center, and support for the development of a tender to build low-cost housing units in Maysan. To illustrate ownership of these initiatives and ensure the sustainability of Tarabot’s work, the Government of Iraq allocated $50,000 in cost share funding to support USAID-Tarabot’s activities with the Governorate of Maysan.
